Bringing history to life, Passing the Torch celebrates culture, learning, and the author's dedication to sharing her knowledge of China with thousands of students around the world. The book includes 22 lively essays and captivating photographs that explore Chinese American historical sites in California.
Winny Lin and her family lived in Kentucky for 40 years. She began her teaching career with Daviess County Public Schools in 1974 and continued until relocating to California in 2014 to be closer to her children. She now teaches Mandarin Chinese online to children around the world. Before becoming a teacher, Winny worked as a journalist for the Central News Agency in Taipei, Taiwan. She currently contributes as a columnist for the Southern Chinese Daily News in Houston, Texas and the Messenger Inquirer in Owensboro, Kentucky. Her dual careers as a reporter and an educator give her writing a unique and insightful perspective.
