Join us for an illustrated talk on the remarkable Bertha Lewis by her grandson Philip Birch.
About this Event

Bertha Lewis, known as Bert, left Oldham for Labrador, Canada, at the age of 23 to work as a teacher. It was 1930. Through her postcards home to Oldham, author Philip Birch has written a novel based on his grandmother’s experiences. Signed copies of the book will be available on the day.

Doors for this event will open at 1.45pm. The talk will start at 2pm. There will be time for questions at the end of the talk.
