The Southern Flinders South Australia A Celebration of Wildlife and Landscapes has been eight years in the making, featuring over 200 photographs of native plants, birds, insects, reptiles and mammals by award-winning photographer and writer and former ABC broadcaster Dr Annette Marner. Described as ‘a South Australian classic’ by acclaimed science writer Dr Danielle Clode, the book condenses 800 million years of geological and biological history into a story about one of the most beautiful landscapes on earth making it the first major work of its kind to be published about the Southern Flinders area.

On Oct 9, at Ngutungka Henley 2-3pm, hear Annette talk about some of the wondrous things she has learned along the way about the ancient rivers, mountains and especially the wildlife of the Southern Flinders of South Australia, and hear the incredible stories around some of her wildlife photographs.

Annette has exhibited her fine art nature photography in a number of galleries, including solo exhibitions, won several awards and has been published internationally. In recognition of her fine art photography, in 2020 she was elected a Fellow of the Royal South Australian Society of Arts. In 2023, SA Life magazine featured a 9-page article about her life and work as an artist and writer. Annette has a Ph.D in Creative Writing from Flinders University.
