👉 What Is It Worth? A Feminist Conversation on Care. 💫In her revealing debut book, Deficit: How Feminist Economics Can Change Our World (2025, Ebury Publishing), Emma Holten writes about how a way of thinking inherited from the Enlightenment explains the lower hierarchical place of 'women's work' in today’s society. How did we end up in a situation where economists determine that the value of care equals zero? In her informative work, which popularises feminist economics, Holten refers to both economists and Britney Spears when laying the groundwork for the crisis in the care sector. How can we be so wealthy and yet feel so bad?
Welcome to a feminist conversation about what time, freedom, health care, and caregiving are worth in “the happiest region in the world”. The event is organized in collaboration between Nordic Culture Point and Astra and moderated by Sofia Elie.
Gummerus is selling the book in Finnish at a discounted price during the event.
