Amy Kenny, author of "My Body is Not a Prayer Request" will be at Baker Book House!Disability Goes to Church.
Disabled people make up one-forth of the U.S. population, and yet are still forgotten or abandoned in our churches. Amy Kenny (PhD, University of Sussex) will be at Baker Book House to discuss her own experiences with how churches treat disability, andsharing her hopes for how churches can welcome disabled members as image-bearers with gifts to share with the beloved community.
Amy Kenny is a disabled scholar and a Shakespeare Lecturer who hates Hamlet. She coordinates support for people experiencing homelessness in her neighborhood, and is a co-founder of Jubilee Homes OC, a permanent supportive housing initiative in her local community. She is a Scribe for Freedom Road Institute and believes that every human is an image-bearer worthy of belonging.
