We invite you and your family to share in the magic of reading! Spend the morning with us and help us welcome author Debra Hatch as she reads her book, "Elephants in the Attic," for story time followed by an activity for your young ones to do!
Elephants in the Attic - How could that possibly be so? Where did they come from…Africa? Asia? Does anyone know? This charming rhyming story tells the tale of a young girl and her friend who one day discover two enormous elephants – Beau and Flo – living high up in her attic. Once discovered — these two gigantic pachyderms invite the pair in and share their unexpected tale of how they lost one home, found a new one and – against all odds – rekindled a lost friendship while living in this most unusual living space.
With her second children’s book – Elephants in the Attic – Debra Young Hatch has once again penned a story to delight, encourage and support young children as they discover joy and laughter in the words and images, and uncover special messages of inclusion, kindness and caring found in a most unexpected friendship.
Special Instructions
This is a book reading & signing event from 11am - 1pm. To attend this event, a copy of "Elephants In the Attic," and/or "Giraffes In My Closet," must be purchased at the Barnes & Noble Harker Heights store. If you purchase your book ahead of time, be sure to save the receipt, as the book AND receipt will be required prior to it being signed by the author.
About the Author:
Debra Young Hatch, a journalist by education and profession, has spent 15 years writing stories about children, their families and their health struggles for Driscoll Children's Hospital in South Texas. Now, through For Kids' Sake Publishing, she has found a way to use that experience, those writing skills and a deep caring for kids to share their stories and simultaneously provide financial benefits for children. Debra lives in Corpus Christi, Texas with her husband and her three assistants, Spring, Lizzie and Teensie.
