Biography - Caroline England

CWA Dagger shortlisted Caroline England is known as the ‘Duchess of dark domestic noir’. with her psychological suspense thrillers. Her latest novel, THE STRANGER BESIDE ME, will be published on the 3rd August 2023.

Caroline also pens gothic-tinged psychological thrillers as CE Rose.

Both CE and Caroline write multi-layered, dark and edgy ‘domestic suspense’ stories that delve into complicated relationships, secrets and the moral grey area. Drawing on her days as a divorce and professional indemnity lawyer, she loves to create ordinary, relatable characters who get caught up in extraordinary situations or crime. She also enjoys performing a literary sleight of hand in her novels and hopefully surprising her readers!

Biography - Catherine Wimpeney

I would describe myself as a psychotherapist turned novelist. I have lived and worked in Manchester most of my life. Initially as a mental health nurse on the acute wards, and then I moved into psychotherapy. I’m now retired from my psychotherapy practice, and work in our family Lightning Protection business. My writing keeps me connected to the field of mental health and I am drawn to reading and writing in the genre of moody psychological suspense.

It’s lovely to work with my son and husband but I make sure I also carve time out from each week for my writing. Our British Blue cats, Jake and Ellwood, are both early risers, they make sure I get some extra early writing hours out of each day.

Three years ago, I joined the South Manchester Writers Workshop where I get to listen to other authors and have them give constructive feedback on my writing efforts. This most definitely paid off as my first book, ‘Her Sister’s Shadow,’ was published by Northodox Press in 2021. I’m currently editing my second novel, which I hope will be published within the next few months.
