Author Afternoon with Georgann Eubanks

NC Cooperative Extension and Arboretum is please to host NHC Friends of the Library to discover the rich history and natural wonders of the American South through the lens of celebrated author, journalist, and storyteller, Georgann Eubanks. Whether you are passionate about unique Southeastern native plants, a lover of Southern literature, or an avid traveler, the author offers a unique opportunity to delve into her recent book, Saving the Wild South. Join us for a presentation on her new book, Q&A, book signing, and the opportunity to stroll around the NHC Arboretum until close.

Georgann's six guidebooks from UNC Press offer a chance to experience the southeast, and particularly North Carolina, through a series of destinations and stories about our native plant, food, ecological and literary history. Visit her many articles in Our State magazine, watch her NC PBS shows and listen to her podcast with author Wiley Cash who will introduce Georgann at this event on Friday, November 20th at 2:30pm.

Georgann is a writer and popular public speaker. Her sixth book, The Fabulous Ordinary was released last year; earlier she completed a three-volume series, Literary Trails of North Carolina, The Month of Their Ripening, a book on heritage foods, and Saving the Wild South, a book on endangered plants in the region.

NHC Friends of the Library, Inc. is sponsoring this event to kickoff the weekend's Cape Fear Book Festival at the Main Library. This third annual celebration of the region's writers, authors and storytellers offers panel discussions, workshops, presentations and more.
