AUT Offgrid Presents: Long Bay Regional Park! This day trip takes us to the outskirts of Auckland, just north of Silverdale, with heaps of stunning coastal views to feast your eyes on ;)We'll be doing the Long Bay Okura Trail, which is 8.2km long and usually takes 2.5 hours. After that, we'll have a shared lunch together and then head on down to the Long Bay Path trail, which is 3.4km long and will take approximately 53 minutes to complete. Both tracks are labelled as moderately challenged. Afterwards, we aim to chill out on the beach for a while before heading home. Should be a great day :)
Trip Cost: $8 (Gas Money - Carpooling)
Meeting Point: AUT City Campus
Game plan for the Day:
9:00am= Meet at AUT City Campus
9:15am= Leave for Long Bay Regional Park
10:00am= Meet at Long Bay Regional Park Carpark
10:15am= Begin the Long Bay Okura Track
12:00pm= Stop for a lunch break (Shared Lunch)
12:45pm= Continue Walking
1:15pm= Meet back at Long Bay Regional Carpark
1:30pm= Begin the Long Bay Path Walk
2:30pm= Meet back at Long Bay Regional Park. Hang out at the Beach ;)
4:00pm= Leave Long Bay Regional Park
4:30pm= Arrive back on AUT City Campus
Gear list:
Comfortable footwear suitable for walking/running/tramping (tramping shoes recommended)
Day bag
Waterproof Rain Jacket
Lunch and Snacks for the day
At least two litres of water
A warm layer
Personal First Aid kit
Any personal extras such as sunscreen/medication/inhalers/epipens
Spare rubbish bags for litter (yes, we will be taking all of our litter with us)
