About this Event

2022 NSW SCIENCE & RESEARCH BREAKFAST SEMINAR SERIES

Chris Beal, Chief Executive Officer, NextOre Pty Ltd, presents:

Australian Technology's Role in Addressing the Environmental Impacts of Mining

To slow and limit the effects of climate change, nations globally will need to be underpinned by a variety of renewable energy sources, low emission vehicles and circular economies. But, by necessity, this will also require more mining of metals and minerals than any time in human history.

Australia’s reputation as a global leader in resources extraction, while founded on an abundance of natural resources, is also attributable to the ingenuity of Australians themselves. Australian inventors and businesses have developed many technologies underpinning advancements in mining efficiency and safety to date.

Chris Beal is the CEO of NextOre, an Australian mining technology business that supplies sophisticated sensing systems to mining companies. These systems are based on magnetic resonance technology licensed from the CSIRO.

Chris’s presentation will show the impact that the worldwide growth in green technology will have on metals demand, as well as examples of historical and emerging Australian technologies that are making the mining industry safer and cleaner.

Join Chris Beal when he presents, ‘Australian Technology’s Role in Addressing the Environmental Impacts of Mining’.
