Australian Comedian of the Year 2025 - Registrations Open 15th October. Comedy Lounge is on a nationwide hunt for Australia’s funniest new talent with our exciting competition, 'Australian Comedian of the Year 2025.' Whether you’re stepping on stage for the first time or you’ve got hundreds of shows under your belt, this is your chance to shine and potentially walk away with a substantial cash prize! Registration Open: 15th October. Registration Closed: 1st December. Who Can Enter: Open to all comedians in Australia – experienced or just starting out. Prizes: $10,000 for the Overall Winner, $2,000 for Best Newcomer. Heats Schedule: Every Saturday afternoon, 4 PM – 6 PM, throughout January and February. First Half: Novice acts. Second Half: Semi and experienced acts with all-new material. Set Length: Maximum of 3 minutes per act. Entry Rules: Acts may enter multiple times. Each week, at least one act from each session will advance to the finals, with small cash prizes awarded weekly.
