Parking is $7.00 for all day. Recently parking has been free.

We fly the parking lot just before you get the Polo Picnic tables parking lot. There are brick bathrooms on your right of the road. We are just before that. Second right into the parking lot off Stratford Drive from Barton Springs.
Just got a drone and nervous about trying out some new features. Come out and find somebody that might have the same drone, but has more experience. This will help build your confidence.
Basic Rules:
Take Offs/ Landings are on outside of orange cones.
-You control your drone from behind the orange cones.
No Flying over Roads
No flying over people that are not participating in drone operations
Be Aware of other Drones and pets.
Be Aware for Helicopters/Planes and lower altitude anytime you hear/see them. Say something to the rest of us.
-If you bring a dog, make sure he/she is cool with drones, ON a leash to secure him and keep him legal.
If you are a seasoned drone pilot, please step up if you notice something unsafe, or reckless, so that we can prevent any issues from occurring before they happen. We are relying on all of our knowledge to help this community grow responsibly.
There will be meetup organizers and volunteers around to help people out from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Please park at designated parking spots. It is metered parking, pays for the entire time you are there. Credit card. A couple of people tried the app, but could not find the number of the area. Recently the machines have been wrapped in plastic meaning free parking. Woohoo
If you are new to this group or new to flying, feel free to find one of our Organizers/Volunteers if you have any questions or want help getting set up to fly. Bring kids, keep an eye on them.
Come join us on the 2nd Saturday of each month for some drone flying.
If there is rain, storms, or high winds forecasted, the event will be cancelled, or it can be moved to the following day. Watch the comments here.
Bring your drones, ground stations, windsocks, etc... or just come by to check out others fly.
We can also coordinate a few demos of some drone flight planning software and potentially schedule some simple games. Just leave a note if you are interested.
Most importantly, we must ensure that everyone flies safely and legally. We do not want any accidents! Make sure you register your drone: registermyuas.faa.gov
Feel free to bring some drinks, snacks, chairs, shade tents, and family and friends.
