About Joey Colarusso:
Born in Sayreville, New Jersey, Dr. Joey Colarusso moved to Arlington, Texas at the age of six. He began playing the saxophone in the seventh grade and has been hooked on music since. After graduating from Arlington High School, he moved to Austin and immediately fell in love with the city’s vibrant music community. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned his Bachelor of Music, Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in saxophone performance with jazz emphasis. Throughout his college years and beyond, Joey maintained a rigorous schedule teaching classical and jazz saxophone to students of all ages. Able to play across many styles and genres as a saxophonist and woodwind doubler, Joey has performed and/or recorded with numerous local and international artists including ten-time Grammy-winning artists, Asleep at the Wheel.
About Jacob Wise:
A native of Austin, Texas, Jacob Wise received his musical education at the University of North Texas, where he received an M.M. in Jazz Studies, and was a member of the renowned One O'Clock Lab Band and a Graduate Teaching Fellow. He’s studied privately with guitarists Adam Rogers, Peter Bernstein, Lage Lund, and Dave Stryker. Jacob has released 2 CDs of original music: “Paseo”, and “Jacob Wise Trio”, both available on Bandcamp. He teaches jazz guitar at the University of Texas and Austin Community College, and also maintains a busy private teaching studio.
About Brian Donohoe:
Brian Donohoe teaches applied piano and applied composition for Austin Community College’s departments of Music and ATI. His work as a composer, arranger, pianist/keyboardist, and saxophonist includes credits with Grammy winners and nominees including Bruno Mars, the Black Pumas, and Snarky Puppy, as well as many more. His work with Adrian Quesada led to an Oscar nomination in 2025. He leads and composes for Progger, heralded by the Austin Chronicle as “Austin’s finest jazz-fusion conglomerate,” and works as a composer, arranger, keyboardist, and saxophonist for a wide variety of artists and his own creative projects.
About Juliana Silvieira:
Juliana Silveira, pianist from São Paulo, Brazil, now calls Austin, Texas home. After honing her skills in São Paulo's bustling music scene, Juliana pursued her Master's Degree in Jazz Piano Performance at the University of Texas in Austin, focusing on the work of women composers.
In Austin, Juliana has graced prestigious stages like the Elephant Room, Monks Jazz, Parker Jazz Club, and Moody Center. She's showcased her versatility in solo piano, trio, quartet, and big bands performances, where she had the opportunity to also feature her original work as a composer. Juliana also works as the principal accompanist for Soco Women’s Chorus. Her passion extends to education. Teaching is a big part of her career and she runs a vibrant private piano studio in Austin, as well as being part of ACC’s adjunct faculty as a jazz combo instructor and jazz piano lessons instructor.
About James Suter:
James Suter is a bassist hailing from South Florida who recently received a Doctorate in Music and Arts at The University of Texas at Austin. James started his education at The University of Miami wherein he was a member of the prestigious Stamps Jazz Quintet. Following his bachelor's degree, James then earned a Master's degree from North Carolina Central University. He has shared the stage with Gary Burton, Chris Potter, Dave Holland, Matt Wilson, Gilad Hekselman, Ellis Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Jimmy Heath, Andre Hayward, Joe Lovano, Steve Davis, Joey Calderazzo, Ira Sullivan, and many others. James resides in Austin, Texas where he teaches and performs regularly. James is on faculty as a bass instructor at Austin Community College.
About Aaron Easley:
For over 20 years, Aaron Easley has been one of the most in-demand drummers in Austin, Texas. His regular projects include the Kenny Williams Quartet, Double Vision with John Mills and Hank Hemsoth, the Tony Bray/Toro Flores Quintet, Kevin Flatt and Friends, and the Urban Achievers Brass Band. Aaron is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the jazz department at Austin Community College, and has worked with some of the most prestigious High School and Middle School music programs across Central Texas. Drumlines under his instruction have won both the PASIC and Lone Star drumline competitions, and his private students have achieved Texas All-State honors in Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Orchestra.
Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB. Ice will be available if needed, wine keys and 9oz cups provided! 22 free parking spaces onsite are first-come-first-serve. Doors at 7:45pm, Show at 8pm.
