Join us and friends for Barton Springs University, a full day of hands-on activities related to our aquifers, Flora, Fauna and FUNGA! We will show you the many water saving ways you can upcycle mushroom blocks.
ABOUT MYCOLOGY WORKSHOP

Discover four ways to upcycle mushroom blocks! Learn how to transform organic waste into valuable resources for your home and community. You'll explore techniques for growing culinary mushrooms, enriching soil to feed plants, livestock, and wildlife, creating water-saving, fungal-rich compost, and utilizing mycoremediation to clean up contaminated soil. Gain practical skills to promote sustainability, enhance food security, and support a healthier ecosystem. Suitable for beginners and experienced gardeners alike, everyone will leave with mushroom blocks to upcycle.
ABOUT BARTON SPRINGS UNIVERSITY
Barton Springs University is a year-round series of educational events and classroom presentations, highlighted by a full day of outdoor learning and fun at Barton Springs Pool on September 17th. The Barton Springs University day is designed primarily for high school students but includes college students and the general public. It features lectures, hands on activities, an interactive community fair and training by leading academics, professionals, and policy makers on central Texas water science, public policy, history and sustainable living.

PARKING
Please park at the SOUTH GATE of Barton Springs off of Azie Morton Rd. and across the street from Umlauf Sculpture Garden. The check-in SOS Tent and most activities and presentations will be conveniently located to this entrance. Buses will be directed to park along the long wooden fence parallel to Azie Morton Rd.
