Learn about AusAlert, the upcoming national test, and how to help prepare your community, clients, staff and stakeholders.
About this Event

AusAlert is a new national warning capability that will allow emergency services to send urgent alerts to compatible mobile devices during serious emergencies. Before AusAlert is launched nationally, a national test will be conducted on Monday 27 July 2026, using a Critical Alert.

This stakeholder session is designed for organisations, agencies, service providers, peak bodies, community leaders and businesses who support, represent or communicate with the South Australian community.

The session will provide an overview of AusAlert, how the national test will work, what people may experience when they receive a Critical Alert, and the key information organisations may need to share with their staff, clients, members, customers and communities.

The session will also provide an opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns and help identify any communication risks or practical considerations, particularly for people who may be vulnerable, at risk, isolated, digitally excluded, neurodivergent, living with disability, experiencing family or domestic violence, from CALD or First Nations communities, older Australians, young people, tourists, workers in operational environments, and people in public or mass-gathering settings.

Attendees will be asked to consider how the national test may affect the people they support or represent, and what communication materials, translations, accessible formats or sector-specific guidance may help ensure the community is prepared and informed.

Two sessions are available:

Monday 15 June 2026

Morning session: 9:00 am to 12:30 pm
Afternoon session: 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

This is a chance to support coordinated, inclusive, and accessible communication ahead of the AusAlert national test.
