Fences is set in 1950s Pittsburgh and follows Troy Maxson, a former baseball player now working as a garbage collector. Struggling with the disappointment of dreams unfulfilled due to racial barriers, Troy’s bitterness starts to affect his relationships with his family. As he builds a fence around his home, he also builds emotional walls that keep out those he loves. This Pulitzer Prize-winning drama by August Wilson delves into themes of family, love, responsibility, and the lasting impact of prejudice.
Fences runs from March 28th to April 13th. Performances will take place Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 3:00 PM.
