INTERMISSION: Happy Hour at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center
Looking for the perfect after-work plans in Downtown Pittsburgh? Join the Urban League Young Professionals, 100 Black Men, and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity for Intermission, a happy hour experience where art, culture, music, and community come together.
Enjoy an evening of networking, conversation, and good energy featuring a live performance by Chuck and the Fellas, a DJ, food available for purchase, and a cash bar.
Intermission also kicks off the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival, making it the perfect way to start a weekend celebrating music and culture.
Throughout the evening, we’ll also be highlighting opportunities to get involved and encouraging guests to learn more about membership with our partner organizations.
Stay for the Big Reveal!
At 9:00 PM, guests are invited to gather outside the August Wilson African American Cultural Center for the unveiling of a new exterior lighting project at the corner of Liberty Avenue and William Penn Place.
Artists Mikael Owunna and Marques Redd, known for their work lighting Pittsburgh’s bridges, designed the project. Guests will experience the reveal of Phase I, with Phase II expected to be completed by summer 2027.
The evening will include remarks from Mayor Ed Gainey, Representative Aerion Abney, and other community leaders, with local news crews on-site to capture the celebration.
