August Free Tree Walk: Ayrault/Francis/Everett
About this Event
For our August tree walk, we will be heading to the shady neighborhood streets off of Rhode Island Ave to enjoy the incredibly diverse landscape plantings of both new and old. Living Collections manager Joe Verstandig is excited to discuss many interesting trees, from the eye - catching purple fountain beech to the storied Franklin tree (Franklinia altamaha). Joe will also remark on proper tree selections for the yard and garden, as well as give helpful tips on pruning shrubs and helping prevent the spread of disease. Approximate walking distance is around a ½ mile. Water is encouraged.
