Audition Announcement for TruNorth Theatre's Production of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"

TruNorth Theatre is thrilled to announce auditions for our upcoming production of Edward Albee's classic play "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"

About the Play: "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" is a gripping and intense drama that delves into the complexities of marriage truth and illusion. The story unfolds over the course of a single evening following George and Martha a middle-aged couple who invite a younger couple Nick and Honey to their home for drinks. As the night progresses the veneer of civility dissolves revealing deep-seated resentment bitterness and long-buried secrets. This play is a masterpiece of modern American theatre known for its powerful dialogue and emotionally charged performances.

Characters:

• George: A history professor at a small college married to Martha. He is witty cynical and harbors a deep sense of inadequacy.
• Martha: The daughter of the college president married to George. She is brash flirtatious and often cruel but also vulnerable.
• Nick: A young ambitious biology professor at the college. He is attractive confident and somewhat opportunistic.
• Honey: Nick's naive and timid wife. She struggles with her own insecurities and is often overwhelmed by the intensity of the evening.
