We are delighted to announce auditions for our production of Trifles by Susan Glaspell, which will be performed as part of the Cultuurstraat Festival on August 30th.
Trifles is a gripping one-act mystery set in a rural farmhouse kitchen. While the men investigate the murder of a local farmer, two women begin to piece together a very different story from the seemingly insignificant details left behind. Widely regarded as a classic of modern theatre, the play explores themes of justice, empathy, and the hidden lives of women.
Audition Details

Venue: The Belfry
No preparation is required.
Rehearsal Schedule
Cast Read-Through: Sunday 12 July, 1:00pm at The Belfry
Off-Book Rehearsals:
• Sunday 16 August, 1:00pm–5:00pm
• Sunday 23 August, 1:00pm–5:00pm
Characters
Mrs Hale – A practical and observant farm woman. Compassionate and thoughtful.
Mrs Peters – The Sheriff's wife. Initially reserved but increasingly drawn into the mystery.
George Henderson – The County Attorney. Intelligent, confident, and determined to solve the case.
Henry Peters – The Sheriff. Methodical and professional.
Lewis Hale, A neighboring farmer
