The Seagull is a drama about unfulfilled desires, familial angst, and the unfortunate realities of life.
Set in Russia at the end of the 19th century, the story follows a group of characters all grappling with their own disappointments in life while pursuing love and fame. Aspiring playwright Konstantin produces his first play starring the lovely young Nina, which is met with criticism from aging actress Arkadina, Konstantin's mother. Arkadina's disdain for her son's work and his ingénue is only exacerbated when her talented young lover turns his interest to Nina.
Part comedy, part tragedy; The Seagull captures humanity at its best, worst, and most vulnerable.

AVAILABLE ROLES
Irina Arkadina - A famous actress, late 40s, who is self-absorbed and enjoys the attention she receives. She is Konstantin's mother and Trigorin's lover.
Konstantin Treplev - Arkadina's son, a young writer in his 20s, who is constantly seeking his mother's approval and is in love with Nina.
Nina Zarechnaya - A young woman from a wealthy family, aspiring to be an actress, who is drawn to Trigorin.
Boris Trigorin - A successful but somewhat jaded writer, Arkadina's lover and the object of Nina's affections.
Masha - The daughter of the farm manager, she is in love with Konstantin and is often melancholic.
Pyotr Sorin - Arkadina's brother, who owns the estate where much of the play takes place.
Ilya Shamrayev - The farm manager, Masha's father.
Polina Andryevna - Shamrayev's wife, Masha's mother.
Yevgeny Dorn - A doctor, often seen as a detached observer.
Semyon Medvedenko - A schoolteacher who is in love with Masha.
Yakov - A hired workman.
