*AUDITION NOTICE*What: New, original play “The Path of the Pioneer,” a historical episode of Jonathan Alder’s time looking to start a new life and his search for his birth family.
Who: Seeking actors age 18 and up.
When: Auditions will take place on May 11th from 2-4pm at Sharon Mennonite Church in Plain City.
Requirements: Headshot & resume not required but welcome.
Monologues not required but welcome.
Auditions will consist of side readings from the script.
Performing August 16, 17, & 18th at Buckeye Brass & Winds.
This production is community theatre in nature.

Summary:
In an intimate setting, Jonathan Alder meditates on his journey so far until his friend, John Moore, convinces him his birth family may still be alive, prompting the two to begin their search and reckon with the effects of time-passed.
Characters:
JONATHAN ALDER - Self narrator; longs for peace and a purpose.
JOHN MOORE - Jonathan’s closest friend; talented hunter and writer.
VILLAGER - A Virginian living in Wythe county.
FARMER - A local farmer who lives in Wythe County, Virginia.
ADAM - Energetic Franklinton Post Office postmaster.
PAUL ALDER - Jonathan’s brother; burden-bearing man of the Alder home.
RICHARD - Last name Taylor; a well-meaning tailor.
NICHOLAS MOORE - Brother of John; mild-mannered and along for the ride.
MARGARET ALDER - Paul’s wife; curious and protective.
ANN ALDER - Jonathan’s half-sister; a sharp, natural outsider.
HANNAH ALDER - Jonathan’s mother; protective yet powerless.
POLLY (MARY ANN) ALDER - Jonathan’s wife; kind, lively, and a good fold for him.
