Play Synopsis and Roles:
It’s self-made millionaire Richard Killingworth’s daughter’s big day. The last person he wants to see is his estranged wife, Mavis, the woman who put the “ex” in “exes.” Celebrating with his best friend Dick, who happens to be Mavis’ first husband, Richard’s life is turned upside down when the Queen of Chaos drops, unannounced, with her new fiancée in tow. Throw in a sharp-tongued butler, a champagne-soaked bridezilla and a snarky stepson, and you have the perfect storm of pandemonium, in this comedy with a heart, reminding us why marriage and divorce make for the strangest of bedfellows.
All roles are non-union, non-paying.
• Richard Killingworth (m) 62–65. Distinguished, narcissistic, self-made billionaire.
• Dick Wright (m) 55. Charismatic, loyal, energetic middle-aged metrosexual with a quick wit.
• Mavis Killingworth (f) 50. Determined yet charming divorcee, a real head-turner, not afraid to take off her kid gloves to go a few rounds.
• Victoria Killingworth (f) 35. Aging society-debutante-with-an-edge turned Bridezilla who tosses aside etiquette to get her way.
• Garrett Wright (m) 25. College senior two times over, funny, bro with heart and penchant for telling it like it is.
• Marcel Nistlerood (m) 30–40. Darling of an imp of a man with a quirky personality and incomprehensible enjoyment of life. (Danish accent required)
• Prim (m) 70s. British born and bred, runs the household with dry wit and a fastidious attention to protocol. (British accent required)
