Sleeping Giant
Directed by Cory Molner
Synopsis: In Steve Yockey’s haunting and provocative dark comedy, residents of a small town respond differently to the awakening of a giant beast, raising questions about the deep human need to find meaning in everything from the mundane to the fantastical.
When a firework-filled marriage proposal goes very wrong, the accompanying explosions wake up something very old that’s been sleeping in the nearby lake for thousands of years. What follows are intimate, darkly comic, and sometimes startling vignettes about the lengths people go when they desperately want something to believe in.
Available Roles:
-The Naïf: ALEX, MAGGIE, JESSIE, MULTITUDES, ZEALOT
-The Raconteur: RYAN, PATRICK, NATHAN, DAN
-The Messenger: BILLY, THE HIDDEN MAN, GUS, CHARLIE, THE BUTTERFLY KING
-The Convert: BARBARA, JILL, MABLE, MULTITUDES
Auditions will be Sunday, July 26thth 2-4PM and TUESDAY JULY 28th, 7-9 PM
Auditions will consist of reading from the script.
All roles are compensated with a $400 stipend.
Production Dates are Friday OCTOBER 2ND - Saturday OCTOBER 24TH (Shows Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 PM, and 1 Sunday performance at 3PM).
