Company Theatre's November production will be hilarious black comedy "Sheila's Island" by Tim Firth, directed by Kathy Gent!We're holding auditions for its 4 roles (all female) at 10am on Sunday 18th August, for performances November 15-30th.
About the Play –
Four middle-management businesswomen set off on a team building exercise and succeed in becoming the first people ever to get shipwrecked on an island in the English Lake District.
Bound in fog, menaced by wildlife, and cut off from the world, this perfunctory middle-class exercise turns into a carnival of recriminations, French Cricket and sausages. Over the campfire, truths are told and dirty laundry is aired (literally). What should have been a bonding process for Denise, Julie, Fay and Sheila turns into a muddy, bloody fight for survival.
Characters, all with distinct personalities! –
Denise – Middle-aged. Sarcastic. Funny. Playing age: 30-60
Sheila – Middle-aged. Group leader. Out of her depth. Not organised. Playing age: 30-60
Fay – Nervy. Sings hymns. Found God. Playing age: 30-60
Julie – Mousey housewife. Very organised. Playing age: 30-60
