Roles (ages are indicative only):
Shayna Perkins (Female, 30s)
A spirited pilates and yoga instructor with big dreams, Shayna has relocated to a new city for her husband Grant’s career. She’s determined to build both her own fitness business and a new social circle. Optimistic and warm-hearted, Shayna always sees the best in people and situations—sometimes to a fault. But don’t underestimate her; beneath her sunny disposition lies a keen intuition, a sharp mind, and a knack for sensing when something’s amiss
Grant Perkins (Male, 30s)
Pragmatic and driven by success, Grant has recently been promoted to manage a furniture store. Efficient and detail-oriented, he prefers life to come with an instruction manual. Hosting a dinner party is just another task to check off his to-do list, ideally leading to beneficial connections. While he presents the picture of an ideal husband, not all parts of his life may be fitting together as seamlessly as they appear.
Billie Falterman (Female, 50s – 60s)
A dazzling former dancer who believes that life is a stage - and she's always in the spotlight. With a personality and wit as vibrant as her vintage sequined costumes, she delights in regaling anyone within earshot with tales of her glory days. Married to Wing, she’s itching to dust off their old routines and hit the road again. But beneath her flamboyant exterior, she may be dancing as fast as she can to avoid confronting the realities of ageing and the present.
Wing Falterman (Male, 50s – 60s)
The calm to Billie’s storm, Wing is a former dancer who now finds joy in helping customers find the perfect sofa as a senior furniture salesman. Content with his feet firmly on the ground, he values the stability his job brings. Thoughtful and kind, Wing often lets Billie take center stage, both in life and in conversation. Yet even the most supportive partners have their limits. Hesitant to return to show business, Wing fears that admitting this might cause damage he can’t mend with a simple renovation.
Veronica Dunn-Dudet (Female, 40s - 50s)
A poised and polished psychiatrist who can psychoanalyze a room with just one arch of her eyebrow. Sophisticated and sharp-witted, she exudes an air of confidence that borders on intimidating. Married to Maurice, she enjoys the finer things in life and isn't shy about her discerning tastes. However, those immaculate veneers may be concealing deep cracks and a lingering sense of personal and professional failure.
Maurice Dudet (Male, mid-40s - early-50s)
A former engineer who traded his calculator for a typewriter to pursue his dream of writing the Next Great Novel. Inspired by changes within his family, he now believes in following one’s passion - even if the road is a bit bumpy. Supportive and gentle, he often acts as the peacekeeper, using humor to diffuse tension. While he cheers on others' renovations, both of home and heart, his own projects may be stalled as he grapples with worries about the secret his family holds.
