* All actors have the option to audition either in person or via video submission *
Read a prepared monologue (approx 1-2min in length) from any Shakespearean play. It is not necessary to memorise the monologue (I want to see how you deliver it with script in hand). A few supporting roles have been cut or combined β please refer to the list of available characters below.
- IN PERSON: 9:30am - 5:30pm on Saturday 19th October (New Fortune Theatre). Book a 10min audition slot at this link: https://www.slottr.com/MacbethReading
If auditioning in person, you may also be asked to read extracts from Macbeth on the day. These will be emailed to you in advance so you can familiarise yourself with the text, but memorisation is not expected.
- VIDEO: Email your audition video file/link to [email protected] by 5:30pm on Saturday 19th October. In the body of the email, please include: (1) which role(s) you are auditioning for, (2) whether you will accept any other roles, and (3) any times you are unavailable on the rehearsal/performance days.
***If auditioning for Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, or Macduff*** please read the selected extract(s) for these roles in addition to your prepared monologue. You can contact the director, Grace Edwards, via email or Facebook Messenger to request copies of these extracts.
NB: Actors who have previously worked with the director do not need to audition ***unless they wish to be considered for the roles of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, or Macduff***
If you have worked with Grace before and are not interested in one of the above roles, please send her your expression of interest via email or Facebook Messenger by 5:30pm Saturday 19th October.
Content warning: This staged reading contains references to suicide and child/infant death.
If you have any further questions, please email Grace at [email protected].
