WHO:
-We are looking for group of strong singers, actors, and dancers (ages 16+) of all backgrounds who bring vibrant energy and strong storytelling skills. We especially encourage BIPOC performers and those with experience in gospel singing to audition, as these voices are essential to the heart and sound of this production.
-ALL roles are open.
-We prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion in our casting process.
-Actors may play multiple roles.
-Pay provided for all actors 16 years and older.
WHEN:
-In person auditions will be held Saturday, April 18th, from 10am to 2pm
-Callbacks will be held Tuesday, April 21st, at 6pm.
-Be prepared to sing AND dance should you be called back.
WHERE:
-Auditions and Callbacks will take place at Peery’s Egyptian Theater / Eccles Conference Center
-We ask that you enter the Eccles Conference Center from the corner of 24th Street and Kiesel Ave. You may find parking along the street curbside or park in the Megaplex Parking garage to the northwest of the entrance. Check in will be in the Lounge area and auditions will be held in the 100’s hallway conference rooms.
HOW:
-Complete the audition application online and sign-up for an audition time. You may request a virtual audition. Videos for virtual auditions must be uploaded no later than April 16th.
-Prepare to sing a 30 second cut from a song in the style of the show- not from Hairspray. An accompanist will be provided. Please NO audio tracks.
REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCES:
-There will be 7 weeks of rehearsals starting on May 18th. (All rehearsals are TBA & subject to change). Once your schedule has been approved and contracts signed, there will be NO adding conflicts without approval from staff.
-Performances will be July 25 - 27, 29, July 30 - Aug 3, Aug 6 - 10, Aug 13-15, 2026 (7:30pm shows, additional 2pm matinees on Saturday except for July 25th, 4pm Sunday show on August 2nd) at Peery’s Egyptian Theater in Ogden, Utah. This show is single cast. You must be available for ALL performances.
