ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:
BRANSON, Mo. — This autumn, the shadows grow longer and the legend rides once more as one of America’s most famous ghost stories will take on a thrilling new form. Set in the eerie, mist-covered landscape of 1790s Dutch Colonial New York, this brand-new, large-scale theatrical spectacle is galloping into Branson this Fall 2026.
The Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Theater will premiere, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow: The Headless Horseman Rides Again, an action-packed outdoor production featuring live horseback-riding sequences, daring stunts, exciting sword-fights, heart-pounding chases, comedy, romance, suspense, explosive special effects, and large-scale staging with a spine-tingling sound design that brings the haunting legend to life beneath the moonlit sky.
The new adaptation reimagines Washington Irving’s classic supernatural tale with a mystery-driven twist that transforms Ichabod Crane into a detective investigating the strange, eerie mysteries, and unsettling events plaguing the quiet town of Sleepy Hollow. While introducing new twists to the supernatural storyline, this production promises surprises never before seen in the Sleepy Hollow universe. Transformed into a mysterious, psychological-thriller with Ichabod Crane investigating the legend, the production is able to explore new layers of suspense and surprise while still honoring the spirit of the original tale.

Note from the Director: Seeking performers capable of embodying the world of the late 18th century, with a strong preference for:
● English / British dialects of the period
● Standard British
● Scottish accents
(Dialect work will be a key element of this production.)
