Old Library Theatre, Fair Lawn Recreation Department’s resident theater company, will hold auditions for The 12th annual One Act Play Festival on Sunday, December 11th from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and Monday, December 12th and Tuesday, December 13th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Auditions and performances will be held at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation, at 10-10 20th Street, Fair Lawn, NJ.
The production will run for three performances: January 13, 14, and 15, 2023.
Casting requirements and audition dates by play are below.

Pre-registration, via the links above, is encouraged, but not required. Sides will be given to actors at the audition. If you have a headshot and resume, please bring a copy of each with you. If you do not have a headshot, we may ask to take a photo of you at the audition.

Synopsis: Joss invites his mother Felicity to dinner. His girlfriend, Pepper, is nervous but optimistic to meet her for the first time. But what happens when Felicity is not what she expects?

Cast list:
Pepper (F/20s) - A young woman who is nervous to meet her boyfriend's mother for the first time. The only person who acknowledges Felicity's quirk.
Joss (20s) - Pepper's boyfriend, excited to introduce her to his mom. Entirely oblivious to his mother's quirk.
Felicity (50s-70s) - Joss's mother. A sweet, gentle woman with a quirk: every time she speaks, she sounds angry, like every conversation is a police interrogation. She has zero awareness of this fa

Charlie (M/F/Non-Binary, any age , adult): A frazzled and optimistic person who has one job and is trying really hard to be good at it.

Across a Crowded Room: Directed by Mead Winters, written by F.J. Hartland (auditions Sunday and Monday)

Synopsis: To cross the room or to not cross the room? That is the question

Two individuals are at a surprise birthday party and as they debate whether to introduce themselves to each other - They stop to realize are the risks and chances of happiness in life worth it or perhaps not?

Logical Conspiracies: Directed by Elizabeth Fahsbender written by Emily Yuko Walborn (auditions Sunday and Tuesday)

Synopsis: When two strangers with different personalities get locked in a room together, paranoia and chaos ensue.

Darleen- 40s, female, free spirit, not afraid to speak her mind
Lillian- Late 20s, female, lives by the rules, here for the money and no games
Nurse- any age, any gender, another day of just trying to do their job

Hell on Heels is An Understatement: directed by Leticia Diaz, written by Cole Vaughan (auditions Monday and Tuesday)

Synopsis: This memory play, set in 1990s middle America, asks the question: "Who would you become if you sold your soul to a pretty lady in high heels?"

All ethnicities highly encouraged.

Cast list:
Dwight: (Black Male) (Playing age 16-17) Son of Dan and Margaret. Dwight is a nervous and lonely, angsty teen.
Narrator: (Black Male) An older Dwight.
An entity, looking at his life.
Dan:(40s) (Black Male) Loving father of Dwight.
Margaret:(40s) (Black Female) Dwight’s mother. The perfect businesswoman who is severely misguided.
Miranda:(30s) (Female) A manipulative, smart saleswoman who knows she’s part of a scam.
Teacher:(30s-40s) (Female) Dwight’s teacher. (Doubles as woman 2)
Sarah:(Playing age 17) (Female) Sarah is the cool rocker girl that all the parents hate.
Women:(40s-50s) Margaret’s clients who are the definition of clingy mothers.
