Based on Puccini’s opera La Boheme, RENT follows the ups and downs of a year in the life of a group of starving artist bohemian friends living on Avenue A in NYC in the late 1980s. This rock opera documents the loves and losses of this group of friends as they struggle with the HIV/AIDS epidemic that surrounds them. All auditioners must be 18 years of age. All auditioners need to sign up for one of the two dance slots (11 am or 4:30 pm) in addition to their singing/acting slot. All auditioners should sing 32 measures from songs from the show. Specific excerpts will be available on Sept 1st along with a full schedule (Full cast rehearsals will be Sunday-Thurs beginning Oct 7, main characters will meet the previous week).
