Callbacks on Sept 1 if necessary
Please sign up for a six minute slot and come prepared with no more than 32 bars of a song in the style of the show (Think Rock / Pop / moody / angsty).

Rehearsals start on Oct 3 and are only Saturdays for the first month. Then they are typically scheduled for Mon - Thurs evenings and Saturday afternoons.

CASTING:
Mark Cohen: Male Tenor (A2–G4) The show’s narrator and an aspiring, nerdy filmmaker. He documents the lives of his friends and the gentrification of the Lower East Side while struggling to move on from his recent breakup.
Roger Davis: Male Rock Tenor (B2–A4) A struggling musician and recovering drug addict who is HIV-positive. Grieving the loss of his late girlfriend, he isolates himself but eventually falls in love with Mimi. Guitar player preferred.
Mimi Marquez: Female Mezzo-Soprano An HIV-positive dancer and singer who works as an exotic dancer. She lives life on the edge, struggles with drug addiction, and becomes Roger's romantic interest.
Tom Collins: Male Bass-Baritone A warm-hearted philosophy professor and hacker who returns to New York. He is HIV-positive and becomes deeply connected with Angel.
Angel Dumott Schunard: Any (C3–A4) An eccentric, vibrant street drummer and drag queen. Angel is HIV-positive, brings the group together with her generosity, and is Collins' partner.
Maureen Johnson: Female Mezzo-Soprano A rebellious, fiercely independent performance artist and Mark’s ex-girlfriend. She is known for her outspoken nature and protests.
Joanne Jefferson: Female Mezzo-Soprano. Belt. (G3–E5) A highly intelligent, Harvard-educated lawyer who serves as Maureen's current, often-tested girlfriend.
Benjamin "Benny" Coffin III: Male Baritone (Bb2–F#4) The landlord of the loft where Mark and Roger live. He is a former roommate who married into wealth and now threatens his friends with eviction.
Ensemble: All vocal parts needed! Playing the homeless, police, the parents, Alexi Darling, the Support Group, restaurant patrons, neighbors, etc...
SYNOPSIS
Set in the East Village of New York City, Rent is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rent has become a pop cultural phenomenon. with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages.
