The Daydream Theatre and the Rhode Island Stage Ensemble are proud to announce auditions for the spring show “Jerry and Joe: Birth of the Superhero” on February 9, 2025 from 4pm til 7pm. The play is written and will be directed by Lenny Schwartz.Casting 7 Males and 7 Females. Readings will be from the script. To schedule an appointment and obtain a script, please email Lenny Schwartz at [email protected]. If you would like to audition but cannot make the audition reach out and we will figure out a separate time and way to audition.
The show will have performances on May 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, and 24, 2025.
In the late 1930’s, Jerry and Joe sold their comic book creation for the sum of 130 dollars. Superman went on to become an icon, leaving two young men from Cleveland, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster near penniless as the creators of the first superhero in comics. This is their story, an adventure brim full of humor, heartbreak, and redemption.
