AUDITION NOTICE: FROZEN by Bryony LaverySprings Ensemble Theatre is seeking actors for its upcoming production of FROZEN, a powerful and provocative drama about the disappearance of a young girl and the intersecting lives of her mother, her killer, and the psychiatrist studying him. The play is set in the West Midlands region of England.
Audition Dates: January 19 & 20, 2025 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Production Dates:
First Read: February 2, 2026
Rehearsals Begin: February 16, 2026
Tech: March 28 – 29, 2026
Performances: April 2 – 19, 2026
Roles Seeking: Please note the role of Agnetha has already been cast. We are seeking actors for the following roles:
NANCY (Female presenting, 40s-60s): The mother of Rhona, a child who goes missing. Over the course of the play, she journeys through twenty years of frozen grief, rage, and eventually, a complex form of forgiveness. Requires an actor capable of deep emotional range and vulnerability.
RALPH (Male presenting, 40s-60s): A loner and a drifter who commits an unspeakable crime. The play examines his psychology and background without excusing his actions, painting a disturbing yet human portrait of a serial killer. Requires an actor comfortable with dark, challenging material.
What to Prepare: Please prepare to explore the provided sides and scenes. No accent is necessary for auditions, but experience using dialect is preferred. The show will be directed by Matt Radcliffe.
SET encourages performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, as well as performers with disabilities, to attend every audition.
If cast, all roles are on a volunteer basis and unpaid. Springs Ensemble Theatre is unable to hire members of Actor’s Equity Association at this time.
