HIGH SCHOOL AGES
The Taunton Performing Arts Center (TPAC) is holding auditions for our upcoming production of "Footloose: The Musical!"
This show is part of our Applause Series, and open to auditioners age 14-18.
About the show: When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. But he’s not prepared for the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, who is determined to exercise control over the town’s youth. With the help of the reverend’s rebellious daughter, and a few friends he’s picked up along the way, Ren tries to convince the town to let the teenagers dance once again. To the rockin’ rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated Top 40 score, augmented with dynamic new songs, “Footloose: The Musical” celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people while guiding them with a warm heart and open mind.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-9:30 PM
Performance Dates: May 14th - 16th
Auditions will be held Tuesday, February 9th. Auditioners should prepare a 16-32 bar cut of a musical theatre song with sheet music in a binder, and come dressed to move.
