Georges Delachaume is a charming young man living a life of luxury in Paris, unhappily married to a wealthy wife.
Everything changes when Georges meets Isabelle, a woman of warmth and sincerity. Swept off his feet and desperate for her approval, Georges invents a story of a simple, uncomplicated family life. When Isabelle accepts his invitation to dinner with his family, Georges must find a way to sustain the lie or risk losing her altogether.
Georges Delachaume - 20-30s:
A charming, cynical young man who is married for money to a hostile woman, also living with his free loading best friend and his domineering parents.
Isabelle - mid 20s-30s:
The woman Georges loves. She is quiet, kind-hearted, and honest, contrasting sharply with the sophisticated, corrupt world Georges inhabits.
Delmonte - 50-70s & Madame de Montrachet - 50-70s: Actors hired by Georges to play his loving, "decent" parents for one night. They are initially unaware of the true, sordid nature of the family they are portraying.
Jacques - 20-30s: Georges’ worthless, sponging friend who lives off of Georges' wealth. He is eager to destroy Georges’ chance at a new life.
Barbara - 30-40s: Jacques’ wife. Similar to her husband, she is a parasite living off Georges and tries to bring him back to their lifestyle.
Madame Delachaume - 50-60s: Georges’ mother. She is materialistic and corrupt.
Monsieur Delachaume - 50-60s: Georges’ father. Like his wife, he is a parasite, worthless and dependent on Georges’ marriage.
The Proprietress - 70s: The owner of the mansion rented for the dinner party.
Emile - 50s: Self assured butler hired by Georges for the party.
Esme - 20s: Maid to Christine, Georges wife. Down to earth and straight talking.
Aside from the role of Emile, all roles require an RP English accent. Emile requires a French accent.
