The Breakthrough Theatre Company will hold auditions for "Crazy Little Thing Called Horror" on the following dates and times:Saturday, August 16, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Sunday, August 17, 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
"Crazy Little Thing Called Horror" is a collection of eight short plays with the theme of horror, each by a different playwright, several local.
There are four directors: Carol Powella Barnes, Kyle Kleckner, Soph Rubin-Seigel, and Nishit Tailor
Production Dates and Times:
October 17-November 3 (including Halloween)
Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays at 8 p.m.
Sundays at 3 p.m.
Rehearsal Dates and Times (not everyone needed at every rehearsal):
September 30, October 1, 2, 7, 8, 9
TECH WEEK (everyone needed): October 13, 14, 15, 16 (7 p.m.-????)
*Possibly more as needed.

“Couples Scarerapy” written by Conor Moore
Directed by Kyle Kleckner
Synopsis: Frankenstein's monster, Frank, and the bride of Frankenstein, Bea, attend couples counseling to try and repair their relationship. However, their therapist, who is definitely not Dr. Frankenstein, has different intentions.
Characters:
Bea: Female, 20's+
Frank: Male, 20's+
Dr. Steinenfrank: Male, 20's+
“Final Girls Anonymous” written by Carla Davis
Directed by Carol Powell Barnes
Synopsis: A support group meeting takes an interesting turn when the women band together to finally ‘take care of’ their killers.

Sidney- female- 40’s+
Alice- female- 20’s+
Nancy- female- 20’s+
Jess- female- 30’s+
Frankie, Matthew, Jay, Gary—the men, any age
“The Ghost’s Delight” written by Derek Ehlmann
Directed by Nishit Tailor
Synopsis: Quirky goth, Lisa, traps a ghost in her basement, seeking to help it move on. Instead, the ghost finds Lisa intriguing. Their eerie, flirtatious banter reveals hidden desires and mutual loneliness. A dark comedy about fear, connection, and finding delight in the most unexpected ways.
LISA – Goth clown, bold and curious, hides vulnerability beneath humor and theatrical flair.
GHOST – Haunting, intelligent, and eerie; hides longing beneath menace, drawn to Lisa’s light.
“Night of the Living Dudes” written and directed by Soph Rubin-Siegel
Synopsis: In this mockumentary style show, Katie, Logan, and Nick are all roommates. Nick, who has a history of bringing home strange and unusual roommates, welcomes a new (and strange) roommate, Bartholomew.

“Not Another Scream Parody” written by Kyle Kleckner

Synopsis: Terry, fresh from a breakup, is relaxing at home when they receive a phone call from a mysterious individual looking to play a deadly game
Terry - 20s-30s, any gender
Lumen/Stranger - 20s-30s, any gender
“SHHH” written by Brad White
Directed by Nishit Tailor
Synopsis: When a comatose boy suddenly wakes up, his parents are overjoyed—until he begins saying things no child should know. As unsettling truths unravel, they must confront the terrifying possibility that the boy in the bed may not be their son at all. And he’s not alone.
Characters:
ETHAN – An 11-year-old boy. Innocent in appearance, but something else is inhabiting him. Speaks with eerie calm and formal precision. Occasionally, brief flashes of the real Ethan break through. (could also be “Emma”)
JULIA – Ethan’s mother. Emotional, nurturing, clinging to hope.
MICHAEL – Ethan’s father. More skeptical and protective.
DOCTOR – Any gender. A rational, clinical man who clings to science and logic. His calm authority unravels as Ethan reveals disturbing, intimate truths.
NURSE – Any gender. Kind, professional, and briefly present. .
“The Swamp Monster” by Larry Stallings

Synopsis: It’s a normal Thursday night for Harold and Sybil..until a guest knocks at the door.
Characters:
Harold: male- any age
Sybil: female- any age
Grunt: the Monster (any age)
“Three Witches and the Drunken Porter” written by Tommy Lee Atha
Directed by Kyle Kleckner
Synopsis: Double, double toil and trouble. Three witch sisters dance around their cauldron awaiting the arrival of a certain prophesied Scotsman, only to be met by a drunken porter who has lost his way.
Characters:
Witch One: Female, 20's+
Witch Two: Female, 20's+
Witch Three: Female, 20's+
Porter: Male, 20s to 40's
