The Racine Theatre Guild will be holding open auditions for And in this Corner: Cassius Clay on Monday, December 16 and Tuesday, December 17 at 7 p.m.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Long before the world knew him as Muhammad Ali, this story of Cassius Clay, Jr. bobs and weaves through his early life. Growing up in Jim Crow-era Louisville, he steps into the ring with determination and drive to not be beaten by life or his opponents. With the support of his family, training from Officer Joe Martin, and his own hard work, Cassius fights his way onto the gold-medal stand and into the history books. It’s a reminder for us all to channel our inner champion and fight for what’s right.
ROLES / CASTING INFO
Diverse cast needed, especially Black actors. There is the possibility of doubling parts being shifted and will be determined by auditions/callbacks. No experience is necessary to be part of the production.

Director Shawn Holmes will hold auditions at the Racine Theatre Guild. No appointments necessary and you need to only attend one of the days of auditions. Auditions consist of a cold reading from the script. Scripts may be checked out in advance from the box office with a $10 deposit, which will be refunded when the script is returned.
Individuals of all levels of experience, ethnicities, and backgrounds are invited to audition. Cast and crew members are not required to be vaccinated, however, vaccinations are encouraged.
Rehearsal Schedule: Rehearsals will begin in late December. RTG works try to coordinate everyone’s schedule and respect people’s time, so typically not everyone is called to every rehearsal. Most often, rehearsals will be Monday – Thursday starting at 6:30 p.m. with some weekends too.
Performance Schedule: And in this Corner: Cassius Clay will be performed February 21 – March 2, 2025, with daytime outreach performances for local schools as well:
