What to Prepare
Acting Audition: Be prepared for cold readings from the script.
Materials: Bring a printed copy of your headshot and resume to the audition.
Music: We are also looking for a few actors/actresses who can sing and/or play instruments. Please prepare a short song (16 bars) or bring your instrument for a brief demonstration if you’d like to be considered for musical moments in the show.
Additional Audition Information
Callbacks: If necessary, callbacks will be announced later.
Facebook Audition Group: Join the SSG Auditions Facebook group for updates, sides, etc... We will contact you directly only for callbacks or casting offers.
Rehearsals: Rehearsals are expected to begin no sooner than late October, though the exact start date is not yet finalized. Our preferred rehearsal schedule is Sunday through Thursday evenings; however, we take all actor conflicts into account when casting and build the schedule accordingly. Be sure to list all conflicts on your audition form at the time of your audition. Please note: any additional conflicts submitted after casting may result in the director choosing to recast your role.
Compensation for Non-Equity Actors
- $75 stipend for non-equity actors
- An additional $25 bonus for SSG Actor Ensemble members (must have participated in at least 10 different SSG shows as an actor/performer)
- Two complimentary tickets for opening weekend (subject to availability)
- Actor’s Pass: Free admission to the opening weekends of future SSG shows for one year (non-transferable; subject to availability)
Equity Actors: We are currently unable to offer Equity contracts.
Important Notes Before Auditioning
- Rehearsals will start in Irving and later move to our new theatre at 3623 Decatur Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76106.
- Please have a clear schedule for evening rehearsals and some weekends at least four weeks before tech week.
- We are committed to a safe and respectful environment — bullying and discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Cast members must participate in strike to receive their stipend.
- Health & Safety: We take precautions to protect our cast from illness (including colds, flu, and COVID-19) and may implement mask-wearing or other measures if needed.
