AUDITION DETAILS

Monday, October 3 & Tuesday, October 4 from 6:00-8:00 pm
Callbacks on Wednesday, October 5, from 6:00-8:00 pm
at The Little Theatre’s offices, 419 N. Spruce Street
in downtown Winston-Salem

There are roles available for 7+ men (ages 16+), 6+ women (ages 14+), 3 boys (ages 5-12), and 2 girls (ages 10-15), plus ensemble.

Please read the character descriptions and performance schedule below. Auditions will consist of reading from sides. Please plan to sing one of the following Christmas carols a capella: “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” “The First Noel,” or “Jingle Bells.” Certain characters will have prominent singing roles, others will not, but everyone will be a part of a choir during the show. Bring your Christmas cheer! Please also bring your calendar and be prepared to list all potential conflicts for the rehearsal and performance period.

The first read-through will be held Saturday, October 15, from 9 am-12 pm with blocking rehearsals beginning Monday, October 17. Beyond that, rehearsals will tentatively be held Mondays-Fridays from 6:30-9:30 pm, with occasional Saturday rehearsals. We plan to take Halloween and the week of Thanksgiving off.

December 9-11 & 15-18, 2022
Thursday-Saturday performances at 7:30 pm
Saturday & Sunday matinees at 2 pm
School performances: Thursday, December 15 & Friday, December 16 at 10 am
All performances will be held at the Reynolds Place Theatre

SHOW DESCRIPTION

Join us for this vibrant new adaptation by Winston-Salem native and New York Times best-selling novelist, Charlie Lovett! Imprisoned in the dark and miserly life he has chosen, Ebenezer Scrooge faces a fateful night of ghosts, memories, visions, and fears. Will the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come help him find the way to a kinder heart and a brighter future? The Little Theatre is pleased to bring this hopeful and merry adaptation of everyone’s favorite Christmas classic to the stage this holiday season.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

All characters can be portrayed by any ethnicity.
All characters, except for Ebenezer Scrooge, will also play multiple roles and be a part of the Ensemble.
All characters are British and will need to have either a Standard British or Cockney accent. Feel free to “bring” yours to the audition! We will also teach and work accents during the rehearsal process.

Ebenezer Scrooge (50+) Owner of a money-lending house.
The Ghost of Jacob Marley/Ensemble (50+) Any gender. Ebenezer Scrooge’s former partner
The Ghost of Christmas Past/Ensemble (21+) Any gender. Shows Ebenezer his history
