Sides will be provided for cold reads. No need for prepared monologues!
Actors who are cast will receive stipends and comps.
Rehearsal and Production Timeline:
Rehearsals will start on January 12, 2026, and run until February 11. We anticipate rehearing 5 times a week. During the week, rehearsals will be held in the evening, likely starting at 6:30 pm. Some daytime rehearsals on weekends are possible.

About the Play:
Lipstick is a silly, sweet farce with a heart of gold and a drawer full of sex toys. Anna has invited Kelly over for dinner, but is it a date? Or just hanging out? How could Anna know?! Is Kelly even gay?! Kelly wears earrings AND boots! Just in case that wasn’t confusing enough, a cavalcade of visitors crashes their evening - an ex-girlfriend, a nebby bestie, a handyman, a mom, and a parade of potential suitors. Hijinks, of course, ensue in this play-shaped love letter to the queer community.

Mal (late 20s): Outgoing and flamboyant. Character gender identity: Man. Race: Black
Dorothy (50s-60s): Mal's mom. Character gender identity: Woman. Race: Black.
Bandit Guys (20s-30s): Guys from a hookup app. The same actor plays multiple Bandit guys. Character gender identity: Man. Race: Any.
Hank the Landlord (50-60): Patient, practical. And a man with a secret. Character gender identity: Man. Race: Any.
Cara (late 20s): Anna's ex-girlfriend. Jealous. Broke Anna's heart. Bisexual. Character gender identity: Woman. Race: Any.

Anna (20s): Highly neurotic and visibly queer. *This role has been cast.*
