Seafarers in the past needed to be able to tell the direction of the wind to help them navigate across Te Moana-nui-ā-kiwa / the Pacific Ocean.Go nautical this Auckland Heritage Festival, bring the kids to visit Highwic and make your own wind vane. All materials will be provided.
This event is part of Auckland Council’s Auckland Heritage Festival 2024, 28 September to 13 October. From late August visit heritagefestival.co.nz for the full list of events. Adults $10, accompanied children and Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga members are free. Maximum four children per adult. Includes entry to the house.
This craft activity will be available Wednesday through Friday, 11am to 3pm, during Auckland Heritage Festival.
Parking is available onsite for visitors to Highwic.
