ATW is the largest triathlon organiser in the UK and we are bringing you the Oundle Children's Triathlon!
It doesn’t matter if your child is the next budding Alex Yee or Georgia Taylor-Brown, or this is their very first attempt at a triathlon… this is an ideal event for them.
This is an opportunity to race in one of only a handful of indoor 50m pools in the country before completing the bike and run in the grounds of the exclusive Oundle School.
The swim will be a 'snake swim' in a 50m pool, with the fastest swimmers starting first. Each competitor's timing will not start until they commence their swim. (You will be asked on the entry form to predict your child's swim time. This is to ensure that they are seeded in the correct position in the swim. Its not much fun to be held up by lots of swimmers in front, nor being constantly caught from behind, so please try to be as accurate as possible in your prediction)
The transition will be on the grass.
The bike will complete 2km laps of the playing fields (the Tristart event will have an 800m cut off) on smooth grass
The run will complete 600m laps on a tarmac path that loops around the tennis courts.
The event will finish on the playing fields where all finishers will receive their medals, water and goodies.
Every child will be individually chip-timed whilst tackling the following distances (ages as at 31/12/2026):
Tristart – 8 yrs old: 50m swim – 800m bike – 600m run
Tristar1 – 9-10 yrs old: 150m swim – 2km bike – 1.2km run
Tristar2 – 11-12 yrs old: 200m swim – 4km bike – 1.8km run
Tristar3 – 13-14 yrs old: 300m swim – 6km bike – 2.4km run
Youth – 15-16 yrs old: 400m swim – 8km bike – 3km run
(Note that if you are over 15 on race day, then you can choose to compete in the adult race (400m swim – 13km open road bike – 2.6km run) that is held in the morning.)
All competitors must provide their own helmet and bike.
