Dancing, acting, playing, and singing are all profoundly physical. Without our bodies, they are impossible to do. If a piano is untuned, no matter how good a musician you are, the result will be, for you, and likely for your audience as well, less than satisfactory. And so it is with our bodies. However, we have the capacity to attune ourselves not only before we do something, but as we are doing something, as we dance, act, play, or sing. It is just a matter of knowing how. This is what these masterclasses will be about: learning how to attune ourselves. With attunement, fear, tension, and pain are replaced by alertness, freedom, and pleasure.

Bruce has worked with members of the Berlin Philharmonic, the National Symphony, Radio France, and at the Curtis Institute of Music, having taught Movement for Actors at Rutgers and NYC under Bill Esper, and for 13 years for the Five College Dance Program in Amherst.
