All are welcome to join our community’s next Attitudes of Being quarterly ecumenical prayer service on Wednesday, September 3. The service in St. Joseph Chapel begins at 6 p.m. and will last for about one hour. The presenter for this season is Salvatorian Father Silas Henderson, associate pastor for Milwaukee’s Family of Five Parishes (Three Holy Women, the Cathedral of St. John, Old St. Mary, Our Lady of Divine Providence, and Saints Peter & Paul). Father Silas will speak on the theme, “Standing Fast: Finding Stability in an Uncertain World.”
A native of East Tennessee, Father Silas currently serves as the vicar-provincial of the Society’s U.S.A. Province. He is also the spiritual director of the Salvatorian Center, chaplain at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, and is his province’s director of planning.
Prior to becoming a Salvatorian, Father Silas ministered for 11 years as a Benedictine monk. In his work as a catechist, retreat leader and author, Father Silas has focused on the dynamics of Christian discipleship, bringing together reflections on the liturgy, sacred scripture, prayer, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the communion of saints. He has offered parish missions, workshops, retreats, and other faith formation programs in more than a dozen states.
St. Joseph Chapel is located at 1501 S. Layton Blvd. in Milwaukee (S. 27th St. at W. Orchard St.). Please invite your friends to join you for this evening of quiet reflection, beautiful music, and inspiration in our chapel.
