Spanish Springs Library - Washoe Room | Sparks, NV
About this Event
What is everything made of? How do atoms combine to form the world around us? Why do elements behave so differently? In this 90-minute STEM presentation, students and parents explore the building blocks of matter through vivid visuals, live demonstrations, and interactive activities designed for curious minds.
Kids will learn:
• What atoms really look like and why models keep changing
• What are electrons and why do that shape the behavior of every element
• Why the periodic table is a secret code
• How molecules form and can completely change the behavior of elements
• The surprising ways atoms create color, magnets, electricity, and all the products we use
Perfect for ages 10–16, but engaging for all ages.
Interactive:
Students will build simple molecular models, explore electron behavior, and see real time demos that reveal how atoms interact.
Parent Value:
Parents will appreciate that this session blends chemistry, physics, and real-world relevance in a way that’s clear, accurate, and fun. No prior science knowledge required.
