The Muatas - Coming to you straight from the frost and concrete of the Twin Cities, The Muatas are a sonic alchemy of shadow and light. Comprised of duo Cam and Ayanna Muata, their music is grounded in trip-hop foundations, dark electronica, and the sharp, skeletal edges of soulful post-punk. Their soundscape is a deliberate architecture of programmed pulses and live guitar, with bass and vocals that sometimes and without warning, collide with the raw intimacy of spoken word. Having re-emerged from their 90s origins in the group Cold Front, they now craft music that feels both timeless and urgent, all at once. A moody and emotive journey that often echoes the chilly, anthemic depths of the Bristol scene.
