On January 11, 2025 we will come together to celebrate the close of the holiday season! This year, we take a trip to ancient Rome to enjoy their festival of Sigillaria! The last day of the Saturnalia festival, Sigillaria is a day of gift giving, feasts, and merriment.
The spirit of the season is one of togetherness, where boundaries are ignored, games are played, and everyone feasts like royalty!
The tradition of gift giving on Sigillaria is one of silliness. Small wax figurines (known as sigillaria, for which the day was named), candles, toys, games, and other small baubles. Performances, a grand feast, libations, and much pageantry close out the festival.
