ATL Living Lab: Campbellton Road

We’re back with our third ATL Living Lab! This Campbellton Road installment will center on the Southwest Atlanta, Adams Park, and East Point communities as we tackle the cost of living crisis through storytelling and connection.

Join us at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the Adams Park Library’s Southwest Atlanta branch for interactive exhibits, expert panels, community-building activities, food, and fellowship made possible by Canopy Atlanta and Atlanta Civic Circle.

The topic for this session is affordable housing and transportation access. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) recently awarded the funding to MARTA, so it can map out its transit-oriented development along the planned Campbellton Road bus rapid transit line, which is slated for completion in 2028, according to an April ACC report.

“We’ve heard loud and clear from the community that they don’t just want another housing project,” said Jacob Vallo, MARTA’s assistant general manager of real estate development and asset management. "Neighbors want — and need — affordable housing, sure; but they also desire food options, greenspace, education initiatives, and economic development programs to support new businesses and jobs throughout the corridor," he said.
