AthFest Educates presents the 2021 AthHalf Half Marathon and 5K! The Half Marathon will take place Sunday, October 24th at 7:30am and the AthHalf 5K will be Saturday, October 23rd at 2:30 pm. Early registration is now open at AthHalf.com for both races for the lowest early bird pricing.
The popular half marathon winds through downtown and historic Athens neighborhoods then across the UGA campus, with live music along the way. The 5K course runs through downtown Athens and the Boulevard neighborhood, with a live band at the start and finish line. Creative supporters line the route to cheer racers on.
Virtual Runner option for the half-marathon. Virtual Runners register as a virtual runner and run a consecutive 13.1 mile distance anytime from when they register up until race day, and submit their times. Virtual Runners will be listed as AthHalf 2021 participants and will receive a race t-shirt and finisher’s medal in the mail.
The race weekend also includes a Health and Fitness Expo, Saturday, October 23rd from noon to 6pm at the Classic Center Pavilion on Foundry Street.
The AthHalf is nonprofit AthFest Educates’ largest fundraising event, raising tens of thousands of dollars to advance high-quality music and arts education for local youth through direct support of school and community-based programs and events. AthFest Educates grants fund projects that expand young people’s access to music and art in Athens, GA. To date, AthFest Educates has awarded over $454,000 in grants.
